This is my conversation with hayley about getting her shots for preschool which we have had many times.

Hayley: "mom, will i need to get my shots soon?"
Me: "Yep, i scheduled your appointment for next week."
Hayley: "Noooooooo!" (screaming like I was about to cut off her arm) "what do they feel like?"
Me: "it feels like someone has pinched you" (now she is more hysterical)
Hayley: " can i just get one?"
Me: "We will ask the doctor if you can just get one."
Hayley: "if he gives me more i will run home."
Me: "but Hayley, you need to get them so you stay healthy."
Hayley: "Will i still be 5 after I get my shots?" (still sobbing)
Me: "yes, you will still be five"

LEAH PIPES IN: " will Joseph get his shots too?"
Hayley: "stop talking about it!!!!"
Leah: " I think Joseph might die when he gets his shots (yots)."
Hayley: "Noooooooooooooooo!!!!"

All I will say is that I went to bed late, woke up with the baby a few times and was NOT ready for Leah to wake up when she did. I AM NOT THE GREATEST MOTHER WHEN I HAVE THE HEADACHE OF POOR SLEEP. So I was not the nicest to Leah this morning. It is hard to be the mother of little ones sometimes. Thats just life.

Just recently, a girl I knew in college lost her 1 year old niece in a drowning accident and her mother has written openly about losing her and the whole grieving process. I am amazed. She has turned her heart inside out and stuck it on her blog. I wish i could articulate how reading her words make me feel. I read them this morning to remind me to love my kids more and to be nicer! Not to long ago i had a friend take his own life and leave a wife and their child. My heart ached for a LONG time. Still does when i think about it. This mother writes even how to treat those who are dealing with their loss. I wish i had this to read when my friend had died. I feel like trials are dark clouds in the distance that you CAN see and that WILL come. I am grateful for her sharing so openly so I may be better prepared. Take a few minutes to check it out.

Story #1
For the last few days I have had a TERRIBLE tooth ache. Worse than cramps. Worse than braxton hicks. Worse than learning how to snowboard. I must tell you that I have had TWO root canals on this particular tooth. So the dentist decided to extract it. I made him make it so numb that i did not know my two front teeth existed. But the GROSSEST part was even though I couldnt feel much pain, I still felt and heard the tooth being ripped out of my mouth. it was lovely.

Story #2
Leah pulled down her pants and peed on my neighbors grass.

So...I am more in love than ever before. I love her double chin, her squishy thighs and her MULL-HAWK (mullet+mowhawk). Its fabulous. And her hair is now growing in blonde which is still untameable so it looks like her hair is suspended above her head. Its quite the sight. She has slept through the night 3 times so far. She smiles alot and uses every ounce of energy to try and talk to me. Her baby acne is finally gone and she just gets cuter everyday.

Home Sweet Home

I love, love, love where I live. In the 6 homes on my side of the street there are TWENTY- TWO kids all under the age of 14. And all of them have awesome parents. This summer has been so fun. My kids want to be outside all day. And now the pool is open down the street. If anyone is looking for a GREAT place to live, come visit us!

Fourth of FAVORITE holiday.

Here we are having fun with our sparkles...i mean sprinklers...uh, i mean SPARKLERS. Thats the word. I think that maybe half of my brain was thrown out with the placenta which leaves me with nada. Zip. Zilch. Nothing people. But I DO remember how to eat hamburgers, hang out and watch my husband play with fire.
